Meet Dr. Dale Bredesen
An internationally recognized expert in the mechanisms or neurodegenerative diseases, Dr. Dale Bredesen's career has been guided by a simple idea: that Alzheimer's as we know it is not just preventable, but reversible. Thanks to a dedicated pursuit of finding the science that makes this a reality, this idea has placed Dr. Bredesen at the vanguard of neurological research and led to the discoveries that today underlie the ReCODE Report.
Dr. Bredesen earned his MD from Duke University Medical Center and served as Chief Resident in Neurology at the University of California, San Fransisco (UCSF), before joining Nobel laureate Stanley Prusiner's laboratory at UCSF as an NIH Postdoctoral Fellow. He held faculty positions at UCSF, UCLA, and the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Bredesen also directed the Program of Aging at the Burnham Institute before joining the Buck Institute in 1998 as founding President and CEO.
Dr. Bredesen's research explores previously uncharted territory in explaining the physical mechanism behind the erosion of memory seen in Alzheimer's disease, and has opened the door to new approaches to treatment. This work has led to the identification of several new therapeutic processes that are showing remarkable early results. Dr. Bredesen is a prodigious innovator of medicine, with over thirty patients to his name. Notably, he put much of his findings and research into the 2017 New York Times' Best-Seller, The End of Alzheimer's.

Meet Jack York
Jack York is co-founder of It’s Never 2 Late (iN2L), a company dedicated to helping older adults realize the full benefits of adaptive technology. Originally, Jack did not envision iN2L as a business; the impetus for what became the company was a philanthropic idea—to donate computers to assisted living communities and nursing homes in Southern California. With a 15-year background in the Silicon Valley, he saw a vast potential in fostering these connections, but also saw that conventional technology was too difficult for virtually all residents to use in a meaningful way. As a result, in 1999, Jack retired as VP of Strategic Sales for Vishay Intertechnology and started what has become a successful gerontechnology company. He is a sought after national and international speaker on technology being used to create personalized experiences that engage and connect residents to their loved ones and the world specifically individuals with dementia.

Meet Harry S Dent Jr.
Harry S. Dent Jr. studied economics in college in the '70s, but found it vague and inconclusive. He became so disillusioned by the state of his chosen profession that he turned his back on it. Instead, he threw himself into the burgeoning new science of finance where identifying and studying demographic, technological, consumer and many, many other trends empowered him to forecast economic changes.
Since then, he's spoken to executives, financial advisors and investors around the world. He's appeared on "Good Morning America," PBS, CNBC and CNN/Fox News. He's been featured in Barron's, Investor's Business Daily, Entrepreneur, Fortune, Success, U.S. News and World Report, Business Week, The Wall Street Journal, American Demographics and Omni. He is a regular guest on Fox Business's "America's Nightly Scorecard."
Harry has written numerous books over the years. In his book The Great Boom Ahead, published in 1992, he stood virtually alone in accurately forecasting the unanticipated boom of the 1990s. In The Demographic Cliff, he shows why we're facing a "great deflation" after several years of stimulus - and what to do about it now. In 2016 Harry published, The Sale of a Lifetime, where he reveals the secret behind many of the largest (and fastest!) fortunes in history out of great crashes that can create a profits windfall that will last you generations. In his latest book, Zero Hour: Turn the Greatest Political and Financial Upheaval in Modern History to Your Advantage, Harry Dent reveals why the greatest social, economic, and political upheaval since the American Revolution is on our doorstep. Discover how its combined effects could cause stocks to crash as much as 80% beginning just weeks from now…crippling your wealth now and for the rest of your life. Harry arms you with the tools you need to financially prepare and survive as the world we know is turned upside down!
Today, he uses the research he developed from years of hands-on business experience to offer readers a positive, easy-to-understand view of the economic future by heading up Dent Research.
Harry received his MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar and was elected to the Century Club for leadership excellence.

Meet Dr. Bill Thomas
Dr. Bill Thomas is an author, entrepreneur, musician, teacher, farmer and physician whose wide-ranging work explores the terrain of human aging. Best known for his health care system innovations, he is the founder of a global non-profit (The Eden Alternative) which works to improve the care provided to older people. He is the creator of The Green House® which Provider Magazine has called the “pinnacle of culture change.” Dr. Thomas also developed the Senior ER model of care and is now working to transform the acute care services provided to elders.
His synthesis of imagination and action led the Wall Street Journal to highlight Dr. Thomas as one of the nation’s “top 10 innovators” changing the future of retirement in America and US News and World Report to name him as one of “America’s best leaders.” The magazine noted his “startling commonsense ideas and his ability to persuade others to take a risk,” and concluded that “this creative and wildly exuberant country doctor has become something of a culture changer–reimagining how Americans will approach aging in the 21st century.”
Dr. Thomas recently starred in the Sundance award-winning documentary Alive Inside. He has been traveling the country since 2014 starring in what he calls his ChangingAging Tour, a traveling pro-aging festival featuring “nonfiction theater" stage performances, workshops and community expos. “People hear that a doctor is coming to town to talk about aging and they expect me to show up wearing a white coat with PowerPoint slides. I show up with a guitar, a bass player, a theater set, costumes, music, art, mythology, storytelling, biography, and neuroscience all mixed up. It’s kind of like a TED Talk on steroids.” The ChangingAging tour has visited more than 130 communities in the U.S. and Canada.
Dr. Thomas recently starred in the Sundance award-winning documentary Alive Inside. With decades of experience as an innovative entrepreneur and speaker, he has also travelled the country since 2014 starring in what he calls The ChangingAging Tour; a traveling pro-aging festival. This tour featured “nonfiction theater” stage performances, workshops and community expos. “People hear that a doctor is coming to town to talk about aging and they expect me to show up wearing a white coat with PowerPoint slides. I show up with a guitar, a bass player, a theater set, costumes, music, art, mythology, storytelling, biography, and neuroscience all mixed up. It’s kind of like a TED Talk on steroids.” The ChangingAging tour's events and workshops have visited more than 130 communities in the U.S. and Canada.
A firm believer in data, Dr. Thomas made the most of his 130 city tour to ask thousands of elders elders the question, “What is the biggest challenge facing you as you age?” The data pointed overwhelmingly to the lack of housing options that allow people to age in the place and manner of their choosing. This led Dr. Thomas to his newest innovation, Minka Homes and Communities. Minka is an innovative production system to rapidly print compact houses optimized for elder-living and designed around universal accessibility. Dr. Thomas and his team are currently developing a number of pocket Minka neighboorhoods in the United States.
Dr. Thomas’ books include Principia Senescentis, Second Wind: Navigating the Passage to a Slower, Deeper and More Connected Life, Tribes of Eden, What Are Old People For? How Elders Will Save the World. He blogs regularly at ChangingAging.org and lives in Ithaca, New York.

Meet Jim Flint
Jim Flint is a member of the Council of Residential Specialists (CRS), Colorado Real Estate License number EI00142711, and Colorado Mortgage License number 100008771.
Jim obtained his Colorado Real Estate License after he graduated from Denver University with a BSBA and specialized in Real Estate and Building. He started his own real estate company in the 80’s and renamed it A Better Way Realty in 1995. He has worked with homebuyers, sellers, and investors for many years. The company has 21 agents.
Over the years Jim has formed 25 Partnerships. These Partnerships have purchased under-performing mobile home parks and self-storage facilities in Florida, Alabama, New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming. Currently he has about 400 Partners in eleven partnerships. Total combined value of the properties his company currently manages is over $45,000,000. Jim’s clients invested about $25,000,000 for the down payment.
Four of the eleven partnerships own self-storage properties with a combined total of 1,500 units, and 50,000 square feet of flex-warehouse space divided into 22 small units used by small businesses.
He formed ABW REO’s, LLC in 2010. This Partnership has 156 partners that have contributed $11,200,000. This Partnership loans money to fix and flippers, owns commercial properties, owns twelve assisted living homes, two group homes, and six acres of industrial land leased to Goodwill Industries for truck storage. It also owns land in Tabernash, CO for development of single family and attached single family homes. There are 75 lots and additional land for other development.
Our program to help operators run a group home and have full control of their future has proved quite popular. It allows experienced operators to rent a facility for 3 to 5 years and have an option to buy at today’s price. It gives them a chance build up the business and perhaps obtain an SBA loan to purchase the property and profit from their labor.
His company has also formed four Tenancy-In-Common Partnerships (TIC’s). Those Partnerships purchased a Family Dollar store for $3,400,000 in Philadelphia, PA, a Dollar General store in Tampa, FL and a NAPA Auto Parts store in St. Paul, MN.
Jim and his partner Geoff Stephen teach Basic and Advanced Real Estate Investing, and Property Management classes. These classes are offered through Arapahoe Community College and 5 other adult educational institutions across the Denver Metro area. He has taught these classes for 15 years.
